Elemental Perspectives by Seán Haughton

My name is Seán Haughton and I am a 26 year old Landscape Photographer based in County Laois, Ireland.

 

Having travelled the world for almost 5 years, and having seen some stunningly beautiful places,met some extraordinary people and had amazing experiences, my journey has brought me home to Ireland where I have found myself immersed in the incredible world that is photography.

 

Having started photography just over 2 years ago whilst living in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park in New Zealand, I have developed a strong passion for hunting the beauty of nature. Whilst working asan Astronomy guide in the Southern Alps in New Zealand, my life in photography began with taking pictures of the night sky - Astrophotography.

 

Since then, it has been an incredible journey learning the mechanics of photography and learning from those who have made it a life and a career. 

 

I originally studied Business and Hospitality and worked in the industry for over 11 years where customer service and tourism is a strong passion of mine. I believe being part of a persons experience is one of the best feelings one can have; to showcase the beauty of your country and to show true welcome and hospitality.

 

My aim is to showcase Ireland through beautiful Landscape images, to document the daily lives of oridnary people, to promote and help grow local communities and awareness and to assist in making Ireland a top destination again for future visitors.

 

I also strongly believe in the development of "Astro-Tourism" and awareness and education of the visual night sky and Astronomy. I am currently a volunteer with Astronomy Ireland and continue to work to help raise awareness and support for our recently designated Dark Sky Reserve in South West County Kerry.
